Background

California Department of Social Services (CDSS) issued additional guidance on how to calculate CalFresh Inadvertent Household Error (IHE) overissuances due to income over the Income Reporting Threshold (IRT).

Changes

The following topics have been revised in CalFresh Handbook Chapter 36 Supplemental Payments and Claims:

• Establishing a Claim
• Inadvertent Household Error (IHE)

Documentation

The case record must have sufficient documentation to support the benefit level determination and the establishment of the overissuance.
