CalFresh Update 2025-01: ABAWD Time Clock Tracking in CalSAWS
CalFresh Handbook
Date | References | Clerical | Implementation |
01/10/25 | ACIN l-62-24 | N/A | Immediately |
Background
Counties must track an Able-Bodied Adult Without Dependents (ABAWD) eligibility for each 36-month period. The statewide mechanism for tracking and storing ABAWD data was MEDS.
Changes
ABAWD tracking is now available in CalSAWS to all counties, eliminating the need for MEDS-based tracking. Eligibility Workers must use the ABAWD time clock available in CalSAWS and must stop submitting MEDS tracking requests.
The Tracking ABAWD Participation topic in Chapter 28 of the CalFresh Handbook has been revised.
