Personal Telephone Calls

As a rule, any call made by an employee of the Social Services Agency that is related to official County business is permitted.

All personal calls are unauthorized during business hours. The employee making the unauthorized call(s) will be dealt with, as appropriate, based on the situation. The misconception is that local calls are free. In actuality, in addition to being charged for long distance calls, we are also charged for local calls.

If an employee finds it necessary to make a long distance call for emergency purposes, the employee must obtain prior approval from his/her supervisor. The date of the call, the area code and number called should be provided to the supervisor.

Cellular Phone Usage

Use of personal cell phones is permitted only during scheduled break and lunch times. In emergency situations, see your Lead/OMC.
