CalSAWS Imaging & Tasks
Introduction
Documents and verifications received by clients are imaged into CalSAWS. Imaged documents and verifications follow document routing rules and may create a Task.
Imaging
Documents from clients may be received in lobbies, drop boxes, mail, BenefitsCal, or a client may directly give an EW a document in-person, etc. If the clerical team is manually imaging or if re-indexing (re-scanning) a document, and guidance is needed for use in the Document Form Field, staff may refer to the Imaging and Task Creation Guide.
Reminder: DO NOT create a Task if the caseload belongs to another office. Be sure to check caseload in the CalSAWS Information screen.
Tasks
Most tasks are automatically created when a document is submitted via the options mentioned above. A manual task is required when auto-creation does not occur. See Category, Task Type, Task Sub-Type reference sheet for a list of tasks that can be automatically and/or manually created.
To create manual tasks, refer to Chewable Byte CB 2023-12: How to create Manual Tasks in CalSAWS. When creating manual tasks, use the due dates in the chart below. For tasks types not listed, use a default due date of 10 days.
