Background

Currently, Santa Clara County clients can cash their welfare assistance checks/warrants at Wells Fargo banks.

Changes

Santa Clara County is changing banks from Wells Fargo to JP Morgan Chase.

Effective 7/24/2023, clients need to go to JP Morgan Chase if they want to cash their welfare assistance checks/warrants at a bank.

The following sub-section has been revised in Common Place Handbook Chapter 18:

Informational Notice to Clients

Financial Management Services (FMS) will insert an informational notice to warrants issued in June/July 2023 to inform clients of this change.

Implementation

The county bank change is effective 7/24/2023.

Supervisors

Supervisors must review the information in this Update at the next Unit Meeting.
