Intake NMD Process
This process only applies in the following situations:
- A new intake,
- Reentry to the EFC program (All Re-Entry NMD cases require a new Intake Determination), or
- Reapplication with a full calendar month break or more,
- DFCS/JPD
- Approves NMD for the Extended Foster Care (EFC) Program.
- Forwards the documents to FC Clerical.
- FC Clerical
- Receives documents.
- Completes ID.
- Forwards document to Triage.
- Triage
- Follows Triage process.
- Follows current practice for infant supplements when NMDs has an infant.
- Makes the determination if it is EFC or Extended Non-Related Legal Guardians. (See Extended Foster Care Benefits handbook chapter.)
- Requests case to be assigned to Intake EW when closed more than one full calendar month or NMD Re-entry.
- Forwards documents to designated FC clerical for app reg and case assignment.
- Designated FC clerical
- Receives documents.
- Completes app reg for FC and MC (if necessary).
- Assigns case to Intake.
- Forwards documents to assigned Intake EW.
- Intake EW
- Receives request.
- Verifies all NMDs documents are received.
- if Eligibility Cleared, then
- Reviews documents including Termination of Dependency, closed Kin-GAP or AAP case.
- Emails copy of SOC 158A and request to add provider to “FC Providers” in-box when SILP is requested.
- If the SILP payee is not the NMD or a facility, a copy of the SOC 157A must be included with the SOC 158A in the request.

Note: Non-dependent NRLG are not eligible for SILPs.
- When provider has been added:
- Follows Intake Benefits processing.
- Makes sure absent parent page is updated.

Note: NMDs are exempt for child support enforcement.
- Follows Intake Benefits processing.
- If the packet is incomplete (missed by Triage), then returns to Triage.
- If after triage review, new information is received, then
- Contacts assigned SW/PO as appropriate for missing information.
- Follows Escalation process as necessary.
