9068 - FFY Attested - Establish 4M Elig and Verify FFY Status - Urgent

Action Required

When Hospital Presumptive Eligibility (HPE) Former Foster Youth (FFY) (aid code 4E) is posted to MEDS, MEDS will generate this daily alert for the residence county to set up Former Foster Youth (FFY) eligibility. If there is a Foster Care segment on MEDS, the alert will display the latest Foster Care case information in the following data elements:

• County of Residence
• District
• Foster Care Case Worker Name
• Foster Care Case Number.

Action Required

The EW must enroll the recipient into aid code 4M, FFY program and verify FFY status. Refer to the Foster Care Handbook Chapter 34, “Medi-Cal Eligibility for Former Foster Youth (FFY) 18 to 26 Years of Age Aid 4M,” page 34-26 and Foster Care Update 2016-03, FFY for more information.
