9505 - IMM Need ID Card Issued - Elig Not Confirmed - Over 2 Mos - Alert
This alert is generated in the monthly Renewal process when an ‘Immediate Need’ Paper BIC was issued to the recipient MORE THAN two months ago but eligibility has not been confirmed. Either the CalSAWS transaction(s) has never been generated to send a confirming transaction to MEDS, or the transaction to MEDS was rejected. An alert message was previously issued by MEDS but has never been cleared.
Note: The alert is routed to the county of responsibility in the history month of the unconfirmed immediate need eligibility. The district and worker code are blank when the county that currently has responsibility for the case is different from the county of responsibility in the affected history month. Since MEDS does not keep the district and worker code for history months, MEDS does not print the district and worker code on the worker alert report.
Action Required
The EW must review CalSAWS to determine if eligibility is established for the month in question.
- If eligibility is NOT established in CalSAWS, resubmit the approval transaction via the appropriate CalSAWS transaction(s).
- If eligibility is already established in CalSAWS, review the INQM screen to determine which MEDS months do not match CalSAWS history. Submit an SCD1296 requesting the MTO to confirm eligibility on MEDS.
- When the unconfirmed month is within 8 months of MEDS current month, the eligibility can be confirmed with a closed period EW20 transaction with an ESAC of 6 or 7. Either ESAC will work as long as the Aid Code reported on the immediate need transaction is correct. If the Aid Code on MEDS is not correct, ESAC 7 must be used to identify the correction action.
- When the unconfirmed month is over 8 months old, the eligibility can be confirmed with a closed period EW20 transaction but the ESAC must be a 9.
