9525 - Infant/Child Within 2 Months of Exception Elig Period - Action
This MEDS Renewal message is issued when the infant or child is in a special Percentage Program Aid Code (e.g., P9, P7, P5, etc.), AND is within 2 months of the end of the qualifying age period (e.g., 11 months for infants).
The alert displays the infant/child’s age in number of months (e.g., 00071 = 71 months old). The message will be generated every 6 months thereafter, if the infant/child remains active in the current Aid Code.
Alert message 9526 is also issued if the Renewal process terminated eligibility for the special program. A ‘PP’ code will be posted to the TERM-REAS field and the record is placed into a Hold status until corrective action is taken by the EW.
Action Required
The EW must review the case to ensure CalSAWS has properly discontinued or transferred the child to another Aid Code. Take the following actions if necessary:
- If continued eligibility exists, complete the necessary entries in CalSAWS to transfer the child to the proper Aid Code.
- If continued eligibility DOES NOT exist, discontinue Medi-Cal benefits with a timely NOA.
