9546 - Over 2 Months Accel Enroll - APP Determination Overdue - Critical
This alert is generated when a child has been eligible on MEDS in an Accelerated Enrollment (AE) Aid Code for MORE THAN 2 months and the application process has not been completed or MEDS has not been successfully updated with the outcome of the application process.
This is a reminder to the EW that the application process has not been completed in the expected time frame.

Possible Screens to Resolve This Alert
- The INQM screenThe INQM screen indicates more than 2 months of AE:
- The INQP screenThe INQP screen indicates that an application was referred from Healthy Families to our county on 11/13/06. It also identifies the Case Name:
- The INQN screenThe INQN screen for the address indicates that there is a record for the child (Maya) and mom (Veronica):
- Enter mom’sEnter mom’s MEDS-ID on INQR screen to find the case number:
- The INQM screenThe INQM screen displays mom’s case number:
- The INQW screenThe INQW screen for the case number indicates there is a record for Maya; however, eligibility has not been established as the Aid Code is ‘IE’:
Action Required
- Complete a search in MEDS and CalSAWS to identify the parent(s) case number.
- Confirm whether the child is living in the home and take one of the following actions:
- If the child is living in the home, add the child on Medi-Cal to the parent’s case if otherwise eligible.
- IMPORTANT: When adding the child, the EW must use the MEDS-ID or CIN on the child’s MEDS record to prevent duplicate records from being created.
- If the child is NOT living in the home, submit an SCD 1296 requesting the MTO to terminate the AE record.
- If the child is already added to the parent’s case under a DIFFERENT MEDS-ID, submit a SCD 1296 requesting an EW11 transaction to combine the two records.
Note: If the AE Aid Code is 8E, it means the application was filed at the Single Point of Entry (SPE). Contact SPE to obtain a copy of the application if necessary.
