9553 - Age Not Within Acceptable Range for Aid Code - Priority Alert

This alert is generated when the age of the recipient is outside the acceptable range for the Aid Code. The range may be from birth to a maximum age or may be a minimum and maximum age. The record has been placed into Burman Hold.

The INQM screenThe INQM screen indicates that the recipient is over 21 years old, which is not an acceptable age for the displayed aid code. MEDS entered a termination date of 1/31/07 with ‘EE’ as the TERM-REAS. It also placed the record on Burman Hold.

Action Required

The EW must compare the birthdate and Aid Code on MEDS against information on CalSAWS and take the following action:

• Complete the relevant entries in CalSAWS to discontinue the current Aid Code and establish aid under another Medi-Cal category if otherwise eligible.
• Discontinue Medi-Cal with a timely NOA if the recipient is no longer eligible.
