This alert is generated at Renewal to notify the EW that the client who is eligible under the RMA/EMA or RCA/ECA program has exhausted the eight months eligibility time limit.
MEDS will automatically terminate the client’s eligibility at the end of the renewal month. This includes RMA/EMA (Aid Code 02) and RCA/ECA (Aid Codes 01, 08, 0A).
Example: Renewal alert created on February 23; a TERM-DATE of March 31 will be posted on MEDS.
Action Required
- Action must be taken immediately to evaluate the client for other potential cash and/or Medi-Cal programs. Under no circumstances should refugee assistance be extended beyond the eight-month time period.
- A timely NOA must be issued when the client is discontinued from RMA/EMA or RCA/ECA.
- Review the case to determine if an overpayment has occurred for RCA/ECA received beyond the eight-month time limit.
