ABAWD

ABAWD Status Code. This is a one-digit numeric or alpha field which indicates the work status of an ABAWD for a specific month of the 36-month calendar. The first month is always the month of the effective date. These codes can be viewed only from the INQG screen.

If an ABAWD moves from a non-exempt county to an exempt county, the FX05 (ICT Add for Food Stamps) transaction will post an ‘M’ in the first month of eligibility in the new county. Subsequent months will be blank, unless the ABAWD moves back to a non-exempt county or the exempt county loses their exempt status. MEDS will post '9' when there is no eligibility for CalFresh for a reported month. The codes are as follow:

A

Recipient has appealed a negative action (Aid Paid Pending)

C

Did not meet the work requirements for the second, consecutive month

E

Exempt from the work requirement

F

15 percent exemption

G

Good cause

M

Moved from a non-exempt county to an exempt county

N

Did not meet the work requirement

P

Received prorated benefit (Partial)

W

Met the work requirement

Z

Resided in a waived county

9

Inactive or ineligible (posted by the MEDS/CDB system)
