MEDICAID-ELIG-CD

Medicaid Eligibility Code. This data element identifies the SSI/SSP recipient’s Medicaid eligibility status per SDX. MEDS uses this code in combination with the SDX transaction code and SDX payment status code in determining the recipient’s eligibility for Medi-Cal.

A	Terminated SSI/SSP eligibility. Refused to assign rights to third party medical payments or individual refused to provide third party liability information - Referred to State-Federal determination not possible.
B	Deeming waived, child under a State home care plan
C	Federally administered Medicaid coverage should be continued regardless of payment status code (1619B eligibility)
D	Disabled Adult Child
F	Title VIII (Special Veterans Benefit) recipient
G	Goldberg/Kelly payment continuation, timely appeal with Social Security confers both SSI/SSP and Medicaid
N	Eligible for Medicaid (N24 Payment Status only)
P	Drug Addiction and/or Alcoholism
Q	Medicaid Qualifying Trust may exist
R	Referred to State/County for determination, federal determination not possible
S	State determination, not SSA responsibility
