RECIPIENT-TYPE

Recipient Type; also known as Master File Type. This code indicates the type of recipient or other individual involved in the record. If a recipient is initially disabled, this code will not change at age sixty-five. It is used in conjunction with the State Optional Pay Code to determine the Medi-Cal aid code. The State Optional Pay code takes precedence over the Master File Type. If the State Optional

Pay code is a 2 or B, indicating that the State supplement is under the Blind category, the aid code will be 20. Otherwise, the aid code will be 10 for a Master File Type beginning with A, 20 for B, or 60 for C.
