PD 23-22: Updates to Electronic Communications

Background

Clients use "Consent to Receive Electronic Communications from the County of Santa Clara" (SCD 2551) to give permission to the county's Social Services Agency (SSA) to send electronic communications (text messages, emails, and/or robocalls) to their phone number and/or email address. 

Changes

When clients provide their phone number and/or email address to SSA, they will receive electronic communications from the county.

Eligibility Workers (EWs) must go to CalSAWS Case Info > Contact > Contact Information > Contact Detail pageContact Detail page and update the appropriate fields (refer to table below).

2. Want to receive electronic Notices of Actions (e-NOAs), and

3. Does not want to receive paper NOAs.

*Note: EWs can use emails to send clients notifications/reminders unrelated to NOAs.


If clients want to stop receiving electronic communications, they must contact their EW to specify which types. EWs must select "Opt-Out" in the appropriate fields on the CalSAWS Contact Detail page and add a Journal Entry.

SCD 2551 Obsoleted

Clients are no longer required to complete SCD 2551 to give permission to the county to send electronic communications.

SCD 2551 is obsolete and has been removed from DEBS Forms Library.

SCD 2604 Created

"Informational Notice about Receiving Automatic Electronic Communications from the County of Santa Clara" (SCD 2604) has been created and added to DEBS Forms Library.

Informational Packets

SCD 2551 is removed from informational packets sent by CalSAWSinformational packets sent by CalSAWS and replaced with SCD 2604.

  • Medi-Cal RE


Offices that have hard copies of intake and/or RE informational packets with SCD 2551 may exhaust current stock. Any newly created informational packets must include SCD 2604.
