Adult Basic Education

ABE programs serve adults working toward a High School Diploma (HSD), a General Education Diploma (GED), and/or improving basic literacy skills. Foundational skills instruction improves basic literacy, numeracy, and transferable skills.

ABE offers academic instruction and education services that increase an individual’s ability to read, write, and speak in English and perform mathematics or other activities necessary for the attainment of a high school diploma or its recognized equivalent; transition to post-secondary education and training; and obtain employment. Such programs also include basic literacy and high school equivalency (GED, TASC, HiSET, or other).
