Emergency Assistance (EA) Program
The EA Eligibility Worker in the PAC office is responsible for recording and/or follow-up of EA applications. When an EA Application is received, the EA EW III does the following:
- ID’s child and queries ACE system, CDS archive and CalSAWS to determine if the child has received EA in the past.
- Records EA application in ACE as a pending application, using the CWS/CMS case number.
- Copies the EA documents with 30 day expiration date.
- Verifies the child(ren) have a Social Security number.
- Clears PE for child(ren) who have no Social Security number.
- Follows-up that the Social Security number has been applied for and/or is received.
- Verifies appropriate funding sources for EA cases.
- Forwards the EA application to the Intake EW.
