Emergency Assistance (EA) Program

The EA Eligibility Worker in the PAC office is responsible for recording and/or follow-up of EA applications. When an EA Application is received, the EA EW III does the following:

  • ID’s child and queries ACE system, CDS archive and CalSAWS to determine if the child has received EA in the past.
  • Records EA application in ACE as a pending application, using the CWS/CMS case number.
  • Copies the EA documents with 30 day expiration date.
  • Verifies the child(ren) have a Social Security number.
  • Clears PE for child(ren) who have no Social Security number.
  • Follows-up that the Social Security number has been applied for and/or is received.
  • Verifies appropriate funding sources for EA cases.
  • Forwards the EA application to the Intake EW.
