Document Identifier
- DFCS/JPD/OTHER
- Sends documents by e-mail, scans, fax or File Transfer Protocol (FTP) which may include the following:
- DFCS Intake Form (SCZ 203),
- RAIC Intake log,
- Intake Packets or SOC 158As,
- JPD Packets, and
- Voluntary Placements (VP) packets.

Note: This is an abbreviated lists of documents that are received by Foster Care Eligibility (FCE).

- Sends documents by e-mail, scans, fax or File Transfer Protocol (FTP) which may include the following:
- Designated FC Clerical
- Retrieves Initial Documents from the Foster Care Processing Inbox.
- Identifies the document(s) by checking the following:
- CalWIN
- MEDS
- CWS/CMS
- Case Tracking
- CalHEERS
- TMT
- If unable to ID, Forwards to ASO.

Note: DFCS/JPD must provide minimal information such as full name and date of birth of the child.

Note: ASO will advise FC Clerical to return document(s) to sender.

- Completes ID for:
- No FC case,
- Closed FC case or
- Medi-Cal only FC case.
- Completes MEDS check.
- Prints the following MEDS screens.
- INQM
- INQ1
- INQ2
- INQ3
- FC Clerical
- The following are procedures on how to examine documents when MC is active or not required.
- If document is assigned to a FC EW, Forwards to assigned FC EW.
- If document is able to ID to an active case that is not assigned to an FC EW, FC Clerk will assign case to a FC EW and forward documents to the assigned FC EW.
- If document is able to ID but pending case in Triage, Forwards to Triage.
- If document is able to ID but closed for one full calendar month, Forwards to Triage.
- If document is able to ID but closed by Intake, Forwards to Triage.
- If document is able to ID but closed by continuing FC EW less than one full calendar month, forwards to last assigned continuing FC EW or last EWS for case assignment.
- If document does not belong to FCE, forwards document to correct location.
- Completes the SCD 41 (for new placements and ARC.)
- The following are procedures on how to examine documents when MC is active or not required.
- Designated FC Clerical
- Reviews documents to determine if Medi-Cal is needed.
- If the Child/Youth has no active Medi-Cal,
- Sets up manila folder with SCZ 203 and SAWS 1.
- Forwards the folder to the FC Clerk to complete the App Reg.
- If the Child/Youth has Active Medi-Cal
- Sets up manila folder
- When applicable, completes application registration for Medi-Cal.
- Attaches MEDS screens
- Request IEVS Report in CalWIN

Note: When unable to request an IEVS report, includes the reason why the report was not requested.

- Assigns to Intake for Medi-Cal (MC) approval when Medi-Cal is not active.
- Refers documents to Triage when MC is not needed.
