Payment
Under no circumstances will payment be made directly to a client who is a ward of the PAGC office. If the GA payment would normally be paid to the applicant/recipient, the GA payment will be paid to the PAGC’s office. If the GA payment would normally be issued as a vendor payment, a warrant will be issued to the client using PAGC’s P.O. Box 760, San Jose, CA 95106-0760. Refer to Payment chapter. The $11 medical institution rate for conserved persons who are in a medical institution and who meet the eligibility criteria will be paid to the PAGC's office.
The initial payment will be effective on the date of eligibility determination, or on the tenth day following the date of filing a signed application, whichever is earlier.
Exception: If the client is in a licensed residential care home (RCH), the RCH rate is prorated from the day the client entered the facility, or the initial payment date as indicated above, whichever is later.
For an applicant who is in a sanction status at the time of application, if the date of filing the application is ten or more days prior to the end of the sanction period, the effective date of payment is the first day following the end of the sanction period.
If the applicant has been a resident of Santa Clara County for 15 days or less, the GA payment will be effective no earlier than the 16th day of residence.
