Update 25-01: EDD Wage Match
IEVS-BP Handbook
Date | References | Clerical | Implementation |
02/28/25 | ACL 25-13 & CDSS IEVS | N/A | Immediately |
Background
The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) contracts with the Employment Development Department (EDD) to provide counties with the process for requesting Wage, Claim, Unemployment Insurance (UI), and Disability Insurance (DI) information.
Only the county's Single Point of Contact (SPOC) from the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) was permitted to submit the paper request for Wage and Claim information (DE 8720) to the EDD by mail.
Changes
The method for requesting EDD's wage data has transitioned to an electronic process via the Secured Automated File Exchange (SAFE) system. Only the designated SIU SPOC is authorized to directly request wage, unemployment insurance (UI), and disability insurance (DI) claim information from EDD as part of a welfare fraud investigation.
The "EDD Wage Match" topic has been eliminated from the EDD Matches Section in the IEVS Business Process Handbook and the section's name has been changed to "EDD Real-Time Match."
For more information, refer to EDD Real-Time Match.
Other Programs
This change only affects the IEVS Business Process.
