9585 - Record Contains a Known Virtual Address - Action
This renewal alert is generated when there is a known Virtual Residence Address identified in the Residence Address field in MEDS for a current Medi-Cal beneficiary.
Action Required
The EW must take immediate action to correct the Virtual Residence Address to a residence address that is not a business, post office box, or CMRA.
- Check documents on file and/or contact the client to obtain a current valid residential address.
- If the residential address is available, update the physical (home) address in CalSAWS/CalHEERS and MEDS.
- If the residential address can’t be obtained, send MC355 to request a valid residential address and use the current process for a follow-up. If no response received by the given due date, terminate the client’s MC benefit with timely NOA.
- For other programs, please refer to a specific program policy for residency requirement.
- If the client is identified as homeless, update physical (home) address as the district office address.
- If the client moves to another county/state, follow eICT process or discontinue MC for being out of state.
- Add journal entry in CalSAWS for actions taken. Check MEDS in two working days to ensure the home address or discontinuance date updated.
Note: During PHE, refer to PD 20-23 for allowable discontinuance of MC benefits.
