Bilingual Services Policy
Current Federal, State and County Civil Rights Regulations require that the Department ensures that bilingual services are provided to serve the needs of the non-English-speaking clients or those who are disabled (including the deaf and hearing-impaired). To meet the needs of these clients, the Agency has contracted with various county agencies and individuals to provide interpreter services. A list of interpreters can be located on the SSA Intranet on the Policies & Procedure/In The Community/Interpreters List. Interpreters provided by the contract agencies have been language-certified and advised of the regulations regarding client confidentiality.
