9582 - Incarcerated Craig v. Bontá - Medi-Cal Determin Needed - Action

This renewal alert is generated when an incarcerated individual is moved into a Craig v. Bontá aid code (1E, 2E, or 6E) due to losing their SSI/SSP benefit, and when their Craig v. Bontá redetermination is due in two months. Afterwards, the alert 9583 will be generated.

Action Required

• Complete Ex-Parte Redetermination Process to evaluate an appropriate Medi-Cal program for the individual. Refer to MC HB Chapter 35: Court Orders, Section Craig v. Bontá - Loss of SSI/SSP for more information.
• Review MEDS INQU screen for incarceration information and RESTRICTION code on INQM screen
• Lift Medi-Cal suspension via an EW32 online transaction if the individual is no longer an inmate or reaches one year from the date he or she becomes an inmate, whichever is sooner.
• Ensure to use Incarceration Date on INQU screen when the EW requests an MTO to remove suspension. Refer to INQU - Incarceration and Suspension Information for more information on INQU screen.
• Ensure the Craig v. Bontá aid code terminated in MEDS.
