Non-MAGI Approval - Disabled
Case Situation (Continuing)
Client applied for Medi-Cal and was approved MAGI MC. Few months later the start of Social Security disability income and Medicare part A and B was reported. The EW clears Non-MAGI MC eligibility and approves appropriate Non-MAGI aid codes.
- On the Customer Options Detail page:
- Select Full Medi-Cal Hierarchy from the Type drop down list (Verification Consent and Maintain Verifications are two types of customer options particularly important for MAGI MC).
- Complete other required fields.
- On the Medi-Cal Condition List page select Active from the Medical Condition Category drop down list and complete all required information on the Medical Condition Detail page.
- On the Income List page select Social Security from the Income Category drop down list and update necessary information on the Income Detail page.
- On the Medicare Detail page:
- Enter Medicare part A&B information, MBI number and HIC number.
- Complete all necessary fields.
6. Complete other Data Collection pages relevant to the case.
7. Run EDBC, review budget and eligibility results on the Medi-Cal EDBC Summary page and Accept and Save results.
- The Eligible Budget for MEDS page section signifies the Aid Codes that will be sent to MEDS.

Transactions Generated by CalSAWS to MEDS
Add (EW20) transactions for the current and future months are sent to MEDS. As CalSAWS considers each authorized month a closed period of eligibility, a TERM-DT and a TERM-REAS will be displayed on the INQM and INQ1 screens. Eligibility for the future month will appear under the Pending column until MEDS renewal.
