Exception Eligibles
There are three sets of special circumstances (exception eligibility) resulting from court orders that prevent MEDS from discontinuing coverage for a beneficiary. During the Renewal process, the MEDS system will generate various Exception Eligible reports to help counties track cases as a result of these court orders: Edwards v. Kizer, Burman v. Belshe, and Craig v. Bonta.
In addition, the DHCS MEB has requested reports be developed to show accelerated eligibility (such as AE CHDP Gateway) and extended eligibility categories (such as SSI No Longer Disabled Child) that are similar to the Edwards and Burman reports.
