1052 - Invalid Termination Date - Reject
This alert is generated in the following circumstances:
- A ‘Closed Period’ Add transaction (EW20) was generated by the MTO. The ESAC used by the MTO (6), signals MEDS that this Add transaction is for a ‘closed period’. Closed Period Adds are approvals with a definite ‘beginning’ and ‘ending’ date - e.g., Approval for 02/1/07 through 02/28/07 only.
- The MTO entered a termination date in the transaction that is not considered valid by MEDS - e.g., the date submitted was either the same date or an earlier date than the approval date.
Example: MTO generates a ‘Closed Period’ Add for February 2007 only. The ‘approval effective date’ entered was 02/01/07. The ‘termination date’ entered was 01/31/07. Because the termination date was an earlier date than the approval date, the transaction rejected.
Refer to Eligibility Status Action Code (ESAC) for a listing of these codes.
Action Required
- Have the MTO generate another Add transaction, correcting the termination date (if the Add is for a closed period), or
- Have the MTO generate another Add transaction, correcting the ESAC used (cannot be a 6), if the Add is for an ongoing eligibility approval - not closed period. A termination date must not be included in that transaction.
