8003 - Buy-In Alert - HIC-NO Changed by Buy-In Unit or SSA - Alert

This alert is generated to advise the EW that either SSA or the CDHS Buy-in Unit has changed the HIC number on MEDS for this recipient.

The alert has triggered an automatic action to change the recipient’s HIC number in CalSAWS.

Action Required

The EW must compare the HIC number on the Medicare Detail page with the HIC number displayed on the alert.

• If the HIC number in CalSAWS is DIFFERENT, enter the new HIC number from the alert on the Medicare Detail page, HIC Number field. Use the Create Date on the alert as the Effective Begin Date.
• If the HIC number in CalSAWS is the SAME, no further action is required.
