9021 - Inter-County Transfer Reported in Other MEDS Segment - Priority Alert

This alert is generated when an inter-county transfer (ICT) transaction updates MEDS and there is ongoing or future eligibility in another eligibility program with the other county. This message is to remind the EW that a termination action may be needed to discontinue the MEDS eligibility in our county.

Sample Alert

This alertThis alert is generated for the Sending County (County 43), who has the eligibility record of the client at the time of the ICT. The CONTENTS section of the alert indicates the Receiving County’s County-ID. In this case, the Receiving County is Colusa (County 06).

The INQM screen indicates County 06 has picked up the ICT transfer for cash aid effective April 2007. However, INQF indicates CalFresh (Food Stamp) is still active in our county with no termination date.

Action Required

The EW must compare eligibility data for ALL programs on MEDS against CalSAWS and take the appropriate actions.

If the recipient is properly discontinued in CalSAWS, no further action is required.
If the recipient is still active on one or more programs in CalSAWS, complete the appropriate entries to discontinue the applicable program(s).

Note: If alert 9022 with the same County-ID as on this message is received, it indicates that a subsequent transaction from the new county took over the eligibility that generated this alert.

If alert 9022 is not issued with this alert, the EW must determine whether the MEDS eligibility for our client should be discontinued and submit updates as needed to correct MEDS.
