9056 - MIPPA LIS App - Not Current Medi-Cal or MSP Eligible - Urgent

This alert is generated as a result of the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act of 2008 (MIPPA) to notify the EW that the Medicare Part D Low Income Subsidy (LIS) applicant must be evaluated for Medi-Cal and Medicare Savings Programs (MSP) eligibility.

The applicant was matched to the MEDS system; however, it was found that even though the client has a record in MEDS, there is no current Medi-Cal or MSP eligibility.

Example: The LIS applicant may have an active Food Stamps case or the applicant may have a pending case at Intake.
