HAPI Updates and Processes

There are three types of transactions used in the Homeless database. These include:

  • HA20 (Add)
  • HA30 (Modify)
  • HA40 (Delete)

HA20 (Add) Transaction

The HAPI HA20 transaction can be generated either via the CalSAWS nightly batch process or through the MTO (online via MEDS). However, it is Agency policy that all HAPI Add transactions be generated via the CalSAWS nightly batch process whenever possible.

If the MTO generates the HAPI HA20 transaction, the HA payment must still be recorded into CalSAWS. An SCD 1296 must be completed by the EW, requesting the MTO generate the HA20 Add transaction.

HA30 (Modify) Transaction

The HAPI HA30 transaction can only be generated via the MTO (online via MEDS). This transaction is used only to change incorrect information on the HA database. An SCD 1296 must be completed whenever an HA30 transaction is requested.

HA40 (Delete) Transaction

The HAPI HA40 transaction can only be generated by the designated OMC (online via MEDS) or MEDS Coordinator. This transaction is only used when an HA payment is posted erroneously to a recipient’s record. An SCD 1296 must be completed whenever an HA40 transaction is requested.
