MEDS/CDB Daily Update Process
- The MEDS/CDB nightly batch update processes the latest information received from our county (CalSAWS) and other State and Federal agencies. This batch update also includes all online actions that were entered by the MTOs during the day.
- If errors or apparent problems are detected, a CEWA is generated. Additionally, if there is a fatal error detected in a Modify (EW30) transaction, the record is placed in the MEDS-Generated Hold Database. Refer to MEDS HB Burman Hold Process.
- Once a new recipient has been added to the MEDS file, MEDS will generate a transaction to EDS, a plastic BIC will be generated and mailed to the recipient, along with their MEDS record being activated. If the beneficiary has a prior MEDS record, their eligibility is reestablished and their BIC reactivated.
- Eligibility continues until a termination transaction is received from the county.
- Besides CEWA is generated in CalSAWS and MEDS, CalHEERS displays online/batch MEDS messages/alerts that indicate an issue which needs correction to keep MEDS and CalHEERS in sync. These alert/message records are available in CalHEERS up to 120 days from the created date.
