0015 - Transaction Contains Unbalanced Parentheses - Urgent

This daily alert is generated when a batch transaction sent from CalSAWS to MEDS contains unbalanced parenthesis. If the data element caused the unbalanced parenthesis is not identified and removed, the process of RECON fails and the MEDS record may be placed on Burman status.

Action Required

  • Review details of the alert message to identify data elements that have caused the batch transaction failed and compare the client’s information in MEDS and CalSAWS records.
  • Create a GadWIN ticket with appropriate CalSAWS/MEDS screens for MEDS Coordinator who will escalate to CalSAWS Help Desk to determine what caused the unbalance parenthesis to be sent to MEDS. If the transaction should have updated MEDS information, submit an SCD1296 to correct MEDS as needed.
