8009 - Buy-In Alert - Fed Deletion Notice; Ineligible for Medicare - Alert

This alert is generated to advise the EW that a Medicare Part B Buy-In deletion transaction was initiated by SSA. According to SSA, it appears that the recipient no longer has Medicare entitlement.

Action Required

The EW must update the Medicare Detail page to ensure that the Part B:

Payment Method is removed (e.g., from “State” to a blank field),
Payment Amount is changed to zero, if necessary, and
New Reported Date is entered (use the date the EW takes action).

Advise the recipient of SSA’s action and refer the recipient to the local SSA office if appropriate.
