1518 - No Matching Birth Record Found for Alleged CA Born Client - Action
When an AP19 transaction is sent to REPORT citizenship information for an individual born in California, MEDS automatically attempts a birth record match if there is sufficient information to process a birth record match.
- If the birth match is SUCCESSFUL, the [INQE] screen will be updated to show the birth record match. The value ‘BM’ will be displayed in the Source field.
- If the birth match is UNSUCCESSFUL, the [INQE] screen will be updated to show the Document Type and Document Number reported by the EW. Our county code ‘43’ will be displayed in the Source field.
For an unsuccessful match, MEDS will generate this alert message to inform the EW that a birth record match was attempted; however, no matching record was found.
Action Required
Check the [INQE] screen to see if the citizenship information is properly recorded. It may be the result of a birth record match or information reported by the EW.
- If YES, no further action is required.
- If NO, review the Vital Statistics Detail page and Birth Certificate Information page section to ensure all required data is entered and resubmit a new Vital Statistics Match. Complete an SC 1296 for a MEDS online AP19 transaction to request the birth match, if necessary.
