1512 - Birthdate Discrepancy Identified - Check DOB Change - Action

This alert is generated when an Update transaction is sent to MEDS/CDB either through the CalSAWS nightly batch process or the MTO, but the birthdate sent in the header of the transaction does not match the DOB on MEDS. If a new birthdate is being reported in the transaction, it also did not match MEDS. An attempt to process the transaction based on ‘MEDS reasonable birthdate/name’ edits resulted in a reasonable match score of 9 or more. Since it is reasonable to believe the person identified in the transaction is the person known to MEDS, this transaction will be accepted unless there is a fatal message generated for the same transaction. However, the birthdate on MEDS/CDB will not be changed.

Action Required

Review both MEDS/CDB and CalSAWS/CalHEERS to determine which birthdate (MEDS/CDB or CalSAWS) is incorrect. Usually both birthdates are displayed on the INWD screen.
Refer to Birthdate/Name/Gender Corrections for instructions on how to change a birthdate. Failure to correct the birthdate on CalSAWS to match MEDS/CDB will cause other transactions to be rejected.
