2141 - No Special Program Segment Exists for this Aid Category - Reject

This message is usually generated with alert 2144 when an attempt was made to record a Special Program Aid Code (e.g., 44 for pregnancy-related services) for the current and/or prior months, but was rejected as the recipient is already active on MEDS with full scope Medi-Cal benefits (e.g., 34/M1). The County-ID shown on the alert message indicates the Aid Code that is submitted with the transaction.

Action Required

The EW must compare eligibility results and Aid Codes on MEDS against CalSAWS and take the appropriate actions.

  • If eligibility results are the same as MEDS, no further action is required.
  • If CalSAWS shows a lower level of benefits than MEDS:
    • Review Data Collection to ensure all relevant data, especially the Effective Begin and End Dates, is correctly entered.
    • Re-run EDBC. If appropriate, do NOT evaluate benefit discrepancy for the affected month(s).
    • Override the results to match MEDS if necessary.
