2146 - Update Failed - Aid Code Incompatible with Medicare Status - Urgent

This alert is generated when a(n) batch/online add transaction (EW20) or when an online termination transaction (EW30/EW40) was submitted on one of the Group VIII Aid Codes (K2, K3, K4, K5, K6, K7, K8, K9, L6, L7, M1, M2, N5, N6, N7, N8) to a MEDS record that indicates eligibility for Medicare.

Action Required

The following corrective actions must be taken to:

Confirm the Medicare coverage displayed on [INQB]/[INQM] screen or IEVS report,

Update Medicare expenses, Medicare benefit information, and RSDI benefit amount in CalSAWS,

Run EBDC to re-evaluate for the Non-MAGI Medi-Cal (MC) program and authorize the case to send the approval transaction to MEDS to discontinue the current aid code (M1/M2, or L6/L7). If the client does not submit required verifications for Non-MAGI MC, discontinue their MC benefit with a timely NOA in CalSAWS.

Check MEDS in two working days. Submit an SCD1296 to discontinue the MEDS record if needed.
