Daily Update Processing Changes
In order to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the SSN Validation process, there are stringent edits included in the daily update processing of county transactions generated into MEDS.
Once an SSN is validated (SSN verification code A, B, C, D, E, F, H, I, J, K or W), attempts to change the SSN or the DOB either through CalSAWS or online transactions WILL FAIL.
Refer to MEDS HB Birthdate/Name/Gender Corrections and MEDS-ID/SSN Changes for procedures which must be followed when making DOB, Name or SSN changes.
