0008 - Not an Acceptable Input Value for this Field - Accept

This alert is generated when data submitted in this transaction was not within the valid range of input for a particular field.

Often the Health Insurance Claim (HIC) Number in CalSAWS does not match the HIC Number listed in MEDS.

If the recipient is an alien who is not eligible for Medicare, refer to MC HB Chapter 20: Medicare Coverage, Section Individuals Required to Apply for Medicare.

Action Required

  • Review the HIC number from the HIC Number field on the Medicare Detail page and the HIC # on MEDS (INQM or INQB screens).
  • Correct the entry and resubmit the transaction.

Note: Enter the HIC Number EXACTLY as it is listed on MEDS in the HIC Number field on the Medicare Detail page.
