Disability Exemption

Any month in which the parent or caretaker relative meets the following conditions does not count toward the individual’s CalWORKs 60-month time limit clock due to disability: 

• disabled as determined by a doctor’s verification and:
• are actively seeking appropriate medical treatment, and 
• the disability is expected to last at least 30 days, and
• the disability significantly impairs the individual’s ability to be regularly employed or to participate in self-sufficiency activities.

TRAC Screens

• ESUMESUM will show the 302 Reason Code for Disabled for the exempt month(s).

  

• KCALKCAL screen will have “E” for the exempt months on the CalWORKs 60-Month Calendar.
