Time On Aid Notices of Action

Each recipient must be informed of their TOA balance via a Notice of Action (NOA).

54-Month and 57-Month NOAs

CalSAWS is set to automatically trigger the following notices informing the individual that his/her aid will discontinue at 60 months of aid:

  • The CW 2189A “Notice Of Your CalWORKs Time Limit - 54th Month On Aid” must be sent out on the recipient's 54th month of aid.
  • The CW 2189B “Notice Of Your CalWORKs Time Limit - 57th Month On Aid” must be sent out on the recipient's 57th month of aid.

However, it is the worker’s responsibility to ensure the notices are indeed generated and sent to the client. If the NOAs are not auto-generated, the NOAs must be manually generated and a GadWIN Ticket must be created.

Exceptions

Do not create a GadWIN Ticket if:

  • Manual corrections to the TOA Time Clocks (i.e. adding out of county months, child reimbursements, etc.) are done in the 54th and 57th month, or
  • The CalWORKs case is rescinded in the 54th or 57th month of aid.

In these instances, CalSAWS will not auto-generate the informing notices, so the notices must always be manually generated.

Note: It is not a requirement to send the 54th or 57th notice for anyone receiving Native TANF.

60-Month NOA

NOA M40-107G “60th Month on Aid” discontinuing NOA must be sent out on the recipient's 60th month of aid.
