Closing and Filing Cases

Closing Cases

  1. Grab hearing folders from the ‘To Be Closed’ basket.
  2. Look for the case close date based on AO notes or the date stamp of Decision/Withdrawal inside the folder.
  3. Write on the folder cover in red ink the month and year the hearing case was closed.
  4. File the folder alphabetically according to the month the case was closed.
  5. Closed cases will be filed for 90 days before being taken apart for IDM’ing.

Filing Cases

  1. Grab documents from the ‘Docs To Be Filed’ basket.
  2. File documents into the appropriate case hearing folder.

Note: If the case folder has already been IDM’ed, the document will be IDM’ed with an IDM bar code generated for that case under DEBS Category Sheet: Benefits F6 – MISC/COURT REVIEW/OP/OI
