Health Alliance (HA) Behavioral Health Screening Results

The HA provider screens WTW clients to identify any issues with AOD and/or MH. This screening is administered via a screening tool during the WTW Orientation/Appraisal.

Reasonable accommodation must be offered to participants in recovery from illegal drug abuse problems and participants with alcoholism. WTW accommodations which may be needed for individuals in recovery or with a history of substance abuse could include adjustment of work schedule for treatment or permission to refuse a job where the individual would encounter alcohol or controlled substances.

Refer to Common Place Handbook topics Services to People with Disabilities, Special Accommodations , and Special Accommodation Review Form and Process for further guidance.

When the WTW participant agrees to participate in HA services, the following steps are to be taken by the HA provider and the AEC/EC:

A. The HA Provider:

  • Begins treating the client.
  • Completes the “CalWORKs Referral Results” form (SCD 29).
  • Emails the SCD 29 to the assigned AEC/EC.

Note: When the client chooses to incorporate HA-related services into the FS Plan, the SCD 29 is forwarded to the designated mailbox slot. Refer to Family Services (FS) Program for additional information.

B. The Assigned AEC/EC:

  • Receives the SCD 29.
  • Adds the appropriate HA activity in CalSAWS.
  • Signs the WTW 2 Plan.
  • Documents all action taken including the offer and provision of reasonable accommodation on the Journal Detail page in CalSAWS.
