1097 - Date Field Contains An Unreasonable Date - Action

This CEWA is generated when a transaction is sent to MEDS/CDB either through the CalSAWS nightly batch process or the MTO, and that transaction contains an unreasonable date. If additionally there is no fatal CEWA generated for this same transaction, some or all of the transaction may have updated MEDS/CDB since the ‘unreasonable date’ is not critical to the update.

Action Required

  • Query MEDS/CDB and CalSAWS to ensure the data sent in the transaction has updated MEDS/CDB successfully. If it has, disregard this CEWA as it is generated as an alert only.
  • If the data sent in the transaction has not updated MEDS/CDB successfully (e.g., there are fatal CEWAs generated for the same transaction), review them to determine what is the unreasonable or conflicting date that has caused MEDS/CDB to reject the transaction. Usually the date in conflict is printed on the CEWA.
  • Correct the error(s) and resubmit the transaction.
