1506 - Update Transaction - Client Not Known to MEDS - Urgent
This alert is generated when a Modify/Change transaction (e.g., EW30, FX30, etc.) is submitted to update an existing MEDS/CDB record either through CalSAWS or online by the MTO, but no MEDS/CDB record is found that matches the MEDS-ID and/or County-ID reported in the transaction.
This error has many different causes. This could be the result of a previously uncorrected MEDS/CDB error. Either there is:
- A MEDS/CDB record for this client with a DIFFERENT County-ID, OR
- The County-ID sent in the transaction contains missing or invalid character(s), OR
- The County-ID is not known to the MEDS Network County-ID Cross-Reference File OR
- There may be NO existing MEDS/CDB record for the client identified in the transaction.
If the County-ID sent in the transaction is different from the County-ID on MEDS/CDB, CEWA 2005 [Transaction County - ID Does Not Match MEDS] is also generated with this CEWA.
Action Required
- Review both MEDS/CDB and CalSAWS to determine why the MEDS Network cannot find the record.
- If the County-IDs on MEDS/CDB and CalSAWS do not match, and CEWA 2005 [Transaction County - ID Does Not Match MEDS] is also generated. Correct the error(s) and resubmit the transaction with the correct County-ID. This may involve correcting the County-ID on MEDS/CDB to match CalSAWS (via the MTO) or correcting CalSAWS to match the County-ID on MEDS/CDB through the CalSAWS nightly batch process.
- If the County-ID, MEDS-ID and birthdate on MEDS/CDB match CalSAWS, but the MEDS Network rejected the transaction, review the Cross-Reference file through the INXR - [MEDS Cross Reference File Inquiry] screen. Refer to Cross Reference Screens for instructions on how to access this file. Use the MEDS-ID sent in the transaction to see if the County-ID sent in the transaction is on the Cross-Reference file.
- If the County-ID is not found on the Cross-Reference file, the EW needs to add it by requesting the MTO generate an Add transaction (EW20/FX20) to the MEDS Network. After the County-ID is successfully added to the Cross-Reference file, resubmit the transaction.
