1510 - Transaction Failed MEDS Birthdate/Name Match Criteria - Critical

This alert is generated when:

  • The MEDS-ID on the transaction is known to MEDS;
  • The transaction header birthdate does not match the birthdate on the MEDS record for that MEDS-ID
  • The new birthdate, if reported on the transaction, does not match the birthdate on the MEDS record for that MEDS-ID; and
  • The MEDS name/birthdate match criteria does not produce a sufficient match to be reasonably certain that the person in the county transaction is the same person known to MEDS with the MEDS-ID on the transaction.

Possible Screens To Resolve This Alert

  1. EnterEnter the MEDS ID in the MEDS Name Cross-Reference Inquiry (INXR) screen.


  2. The nameThe name returned is Named Person.


  3. SCI File ClearanceSCI File Clearance client ID search on the transaction MEDS ID.


  4. The nameThe name returned for the same MEDS ID is Vested Client.


Action Required

Use the following chart to determine corrective action when there is an existing record on MEDS and the attempted transaction varies in name and birthdate:

IF the individual on the transaction
and the individual on MEDS are...

The same person,

  • Navigate to the Individual Demographics Detail page
  • Select the individual whose record needs correction.
  • Correct the name and date of birth to match MEDS information and save.
  • Rerun EDBC and authorize. Ensure name/birthdate is also correct in CalHEERS if there is a CalHEERS case associated to the CalSAWS case.
  • Check MEDS 2 days later.
  • Delete any unnecessary client correspondence that was generated.

Not the same person,

  • Create a GadWIN ticket and select MEDS category
  • Provide the Name, Birthdate and CIN for both clients.

The MEDS coordinator will contact the state via Remedy ticket to request for de-linking the MEDS records.
