Possible Screen To Resolve This Alert
ReviewReview the HIC Number Cross Reference Report (INXH) screen.
The transaction has the prior HIC Number rather than the current HIC number.
Refer to MEDS Data Element Dictionary Overview for a list of the values displayed.
Action Required
The EW must:
- Obtain a [Primary Medi-Cal/CMSP Information] INQM screen print.
Often the Health Insurance Claim (HIC) Number in CalSAWS does not match the HIC Number listed in MEDS. Review the HIC number from the HIC Number field on the Medicare Detail page and the HIC # on MEDS.
- Compare the Health Insurance Claim Number (HIC) on MEDS with the HIC Number from the HIC Number field on the Medicare Detail page.
- If the HIC Number in CalSAWS is incorrect, change the HIC number in the HIC Number field on the Medicare Detail page to match the number on the MEDS record. Suppress MEDS transaction in CalSAWS.
- If the HIC Number on MEDS is incorrect, submit a State Medicare Buy-In Problem Form (online fillable form) or send an email to the Medicare Buy-In Unit at buyin@dhcs.ca.gov requesting correction.
