2042 - Valid Month/Year Less than 13 Months Prior to Current - Reject

This error was generated as a result of an incorrect entry by an MTO. A transaction was generated to issue a Medi-Cal card over 13 months old (EW50), but the effective month used in the transaction was less than 13 months prior to the current MEDS month (e.g., In 3/07, an EW50 transaction is generated with an effective date of 4/06. The effective date must be earlier than 3/06 in order to be accepted).

The EW50 transaction can only be used to issue Medi-Cal BIC’s over 13 months old. The transaction has rejected and no Medi-Cal card was issued by the California Department of Health Services.

Action Required

Complete another SCD 1296, requesting online issuance of the Medi-Cal BIC’s. To assist the MTO, attach the CalSAWS to the request. MTO needs to use correct the VALID-YYMM and resubmit the EW50 online transaction or use an EW45 online transaction if not over 13 months.
