6010 - Key Client ID Field Discrepancies – Recon Hold Generated - Urgent
This alert is generated when:
- A matching record (other than Food Stamp) is found on MEDS, but
- The COUNTY-ID and/or birthdate of the county Recon record does not match MEDS, and
- The last change date on MEDS was PRIOR to the creation date of the CalSAWS Recon file.
When this alert is generated, no further reconciliation is done for the Recon transaction.
For BIRTHDATE discrepancies, a Hold transaction is generated. The MEDS record is placed in a Hold status, with ‘L’ as the termination reason.
For COUNTY-ID discrepancies, MEDS generates an IPT transaction followed by a Hold transaction.
- If the IPT transaction is successful, the transaction will change the COUNTY-ID on MEDS and the Hold transaction will fail with alert message 2005 because the COUNTY-ID on the Hold transaction does not match the new COUNTY-ID on MEDS.
- If the IPT transaction fails, the Hold transaction will be processed successfully. The MEDS record is placed in a Hold status, with “L” as a termination reason.
Action Required
The EW must compare the key fields (birthdate and COUNTY-ID) on the CalSAWS record against MEDS.
- For birthdate discrepancies, change the data in CalSAWS, if necessary, to reflect the correct data and/or initiate the appropriate action to correct any erroneous data on MEDS and remove the Hold status.

- For County ID discrepancies, verify whether the IPT transaction is successful by reviewing MEDS and all alerts generated.
- If alert message 2005 is generated, the IPT transaction successfully changed the COUNTY-ID. No corrective action is needed.
- If alert message 2005 is NOT generated, initiate the appropriate action to correct any erroneous data on MEDS and remove the Hold status.
